Title: Bad Hub ?
Post by: calkurt73 on August 13, 2024, 12:44:37 PM
My Radrunner has started making noise when I coast. I pulled therear tire off and the sprocket won't freewheel in one direction. When I force it to turn it makes a growlly bad bearings kind if sound. Shouldn't the sprocket on the motor freewheel in one direction ?

yes it should free spin in the opposite direction (reverse direction).

Check the brake discs to make sure they aren't bent. Probably not be check anyway.

It may be your motor has internal gear problems.

If it turns out to be the motor or the gears, Area13 will have the parts for replacement.  They will be OEM parts.

The freewheel needed a little grease. I removed the freewheel and cleaned it up. I reinstalled it and reassembled the bike. After a couple of rides the sounds went away and the bikes running smooth again. I ordered a new 16T freewheel on line.
