RadRover / Re: Tires for Radrover 5 suggestions
September 07, 2021, 09:02:16 AM
I have over 1100 miles on my RRST, so I went and ordered tires to have ready.  I got the Schwalbe Jumbo Jim 26x4.0 from an Ebay post.  I don't have them mounted yet, but I have read alot of good reviews about them.  My previous ebike had the Schwalbe Fat Franks and I thought they were great tires.

Good solid information to protect your ebike.  Thank you, Ryan.

Last month, I posted that I installed the Apache 2800 case from Harbor Freight.  There were times that I thought it would be nice to have some extra storage, so I got the RosWheel 3 in 1 pannier bags.  Ryan with Ebike Escape recommended these bags and talks about them in his latest video: https://youtu.be/lrYF4WU2vmo.

The bags are connected and are meant to strap to the back rack.  I drilled and punched holes into the connecting fabric, got the grommet kit from Harbor Freight, and attached four grommets into the material where the rear rack screws holes are.  Long story short, I can screw the four thumb screws down into the Apache case bottom, through the grommet holes, and into the rear rack screw holes.

The top bag can attach to the RosWheel fasteners and sit on top the the Apache case, though it does need to be upside down for more interior space.  I tried it last night night for a grocery run and it worked great.

I installed the Apache 2800 on my Rad Rover Step Thru rear rack.  There are screw holes on the rack and I measured the bottom and drilled the holes.  I used 4 M5X15mm star knobs and washers to screw it into the holes.  Also, I attached kayak eyelets to the front and back for bungee cords for extra cargo.  Lastly, I bought two keyed alike master locks, so I can lock the case.
