I just unboxed my new RadCity 5 Plus Step-Thru and all was well until I rode up onto the driveway from the street.  It has a smooth surmountable curb but that was enough to cause a metallic clank noise.  Upon investigation, the noise was caused by the nut holding the fender onto the fork arch impacting the fork's upper frame.  Even with the pre-load set to max, there is metal to metal contact.  When the suspension is locked, no noise.  I took off the fender and it's attachment bolt, set the pre-load to about its middle setting, rode over the same course and experienced no noise.  I also did not feel the suspension bottoming out.  My weight is 190 pounds.  RadPower agreed to send me a new fork (it's on backorder).

Has anyone else had issues with their RadCity 5 Plus Step-thru suspension fork?

I had used the Large Front Basket on my RadRover for about 2 years, along with the Large Basket Bag.  Both were great for my commute to work to carry my laptop where I believe that front fork's shock helped protect it a bit more than placing it in my rear panniers.  Now with COVID and fortunately enough to be working from home, I don't have to carry anything that big and heavy so high up on the bike.  So I swapped it out for the just released smaller front mounted basket.  I like its smaller bulk as it does not use the Front Rack frame but bolts right to the bike frame.  I repurposed an earlier bike light bracket to mount the Premium Light up above the bottom of the basket.  This gave it plenty of clearance from the tire and the suspension travel.
