I bought the Krad 3.3 from Rad. I had the same concerns from using the stock street tires...very squirrely on wet grass. Problems solved - these things ride great now.

Rad Modifications / Re: 52 volt upgrade
August 22, 2021, 02:40:30 PM
Hope you are still monitoring this reply...Where did you get your battery. I am still on the fence between 48/52 but would consider a higher aH 48v in lieu of the 52v. So I am really looking for more range for my 2020 Mini w/upgraded 25a controller. Which to target a higher aH 48v or a similar 52v that you purchased?

As you(OP) have posted previously, I am now maxed out around 20-25 miles. That is really my max rides but I want insurance.

TIA...

RadMini / Battery upgrade for the RadMini 4?
August 21, 2021, 02:45:42 PM
So I ended up getting a 25watt controller and installed last week. As I expected, my battery life decreased some. Curious if anyone here has done this and have also upgraded the battery. I am not sure if I want to stay with the 48v or increase to 52v but what I am sure of is that I would like to hone in on a 17aH battery for the longevity of rides. On the fence whether I would replace the existing battery or get an add-on too for like the bike rack. My research so far is making me look for one with a XT90 connector as I can find a Rad to XT90 conversion cable to basically make it plug and play - anyone have thoughts on doing this or advice as to what to get.

I bought the Kenda 3.3s from Rad - night and day difference from the stock, probably gonna kill someone tires. Great on grass - ok on sand - H2O doesn't seem to bother either. Well worth the upgrade.

Anybody have a recommendation for a Android GPS tracking app for my bike rides? I downloaded "My Tracks" but it didn't work.

AllTrails for places to ride. I just downloaded Strava per research looking for the same thing. Will try out tomorrow. Would love to see integration with my Samsung watch. I am hoping Strava will record where I ride also.

General Chat / Re: Tires on new mini
March 28, 2021, 03:05:57 PM
I just received my Rad Mini 4 - Since I owned a 2019, I didn't look to closely about the new specs. My 2019 has 4" tires with a more aggressive tread pattern. Love it on off road and wet grass. The new Mini 4 has the 3 inch CSTs. After my first ride yesterday, I found them to be very unforgiving when riding off into dry grass no less. I will have to be more mindful of such for the time being. I tend to ride more on roads but want to be able to go off road and not ride like my granny :) - I noticed there are not many(ok almost none) 3 inch replacement tires. Rad has a 3.3 K-Rad that I may have to go with - wonder if I need to replace the size of the tubes as well. Anyone with knowledge that can comment or recommend a solution?
