Quote from: Ddaybc on January 26, 2025, 04:20:08 PMThere's too many ads on the forum site now. EVERYTIME I click the mouse I have to pass over two or more ads. If this doesn't change within a week I'm done! Far too much garbage.
This is a great forum but it's being ruined with Google Ads.

I Agree, Where is Ryan to straighten this problem out?????? PLEASE!!!!!

Quote from: Count on December 03, 2024, 07:55:35 PMHello forum, I was posting here at least 5 years ago. Much has changed I can see. I have a Rad Rover circa 2018, and did a lot of upgrading. I installed, among many other things, a Bolton 35 amp controller and screen. My bike sat in the garage for years, and I want to revive it, and the controller is problematic. I see that Bolton is no longer around.  Can you please let me know where I can purchase an equivalent plug and play 35 amp controller for  my bike?  Also, is there a better plug and play replacement available in the market these days, and if so, can you please let me know?  I have a true 750 baffang motor if that helps.  Thanks!

Bolton is now Area 13, And is still in Grass Valley Calif. They recently opened up a new store, Kyle is still running things,

Agree inoxa, Also check the stretch of the chain, At 220 lbs. I wore out a chain in less than 3000 miles.

Quote from: inoxa on May 28, 2024, 01:03:22 PMI have 6000 miles on my chain for a 2020 rover 5.  I've not had a problem with my chain.

Thanks for the reply,
I had to change mine at 3000 miles due to cassette and chain noise and slippage, The chain was definatly stretched, and in need of replacement, I do pedal allot and usually only use Pedal Assist on 1 or 2, ocasionally using PA 3 for going up hills, I also weigh 220 pounds, And with gear on the Radrover the bike weighs about 100 pounds,

RadRover / Radrover 5 2021 replacement chain
May 28, 2024, 01:04:50 PM
Hi All,
I have a Radrover 5 bought in 2021 and need to replace the chain again after 4,500 miles, Rad's website is sold out of them, So I need to go to Amazon, DOES anyone know which one to order for a turn key installation? There is too many for sale for me to find the right one, I would like to get a quality chain since I only replace it every 2 years or so.
Thanks, Paul

PS. Posted this in service and repair and got only 1 response from  inoxa, Thanks for the feedback inoxa.

Service & Repair / Re: Bike won't turn on.

Hello Radfriends!  My bike won't turn on.  After turning the key on and pressing the button, the screen will flash on and that is it.  It won't turn on again unless you turn the key off and on again.
I have checked the 5A and 40A fuses and they are intact.
And I can't get any response from Radbikes EU.
HELP!

Yes, Customer Support has been poor lately, Someone will chime in for you soon hopefully,

I thought the lower the TPI the more puncture resistant, And that wire bead was better than the folding tires, Please educate me,
Thanks, Paul

At 3,000 miles I've had my second puncture of my rear Radrunner tire. The first took me months to find because it was a whisker-thin wire.

This was also strange. A quarter inch of wood less than 1mm in diameter, like 20 gauge copper wire. I thought maybe it was the tip of a thorn, which can be very hard and sharp. No this was blunt, and it felt soft, like broom straw. How in the world could it penetrate the tread of a tire?

I find it ironic that the sidewall of the OEM Kendra tire says "puncture resistant casing." The 30 TPI count means low puncture resistance, and the rubber must be especially easy to penetrate.

The green is showing through on the right of the tread. I guess I corner harder on right turns. I've read here about CST Big Boats. Are they the only other option? How are they for puncture resistance?

Depends on the battery you have.  I have a RAD Rover 5.  My manual says 50 - 70 % charge for storage over 2 weeks.

Agree, That's what I do, I have the RadRover 5 also, 2021 model,
