To be honest though, a chain cutter would probably make short work of the chain adaptor. Best prevention, be careful where you park and only do so for a limited time.  All day parking while at the office is dangerous to having a ride home.

If this bike is a replacement for a car and will be left outside of stores while shopping, you should consider locking options.  IMO the best involves a chain secured to a fixed stand (like a bike stand anchored in concrete.  First step in locking, turn the key off to the battery to prevent it from being driven way...Chains next...

My Mission is equipped the same way.  However, I connect the chain to the metal bars that typically are in front of stores (especially grocery stores.  From what I see, there is nothing to prevent someone from carrying your bike off.

My Mission came with factory fenders.   However I later had a rear wheel rack installed at my local bike shop. Every thing was fine and rode several miles with my rear rack. After seeing the thread, I decided to check the bolts holding the rear fender and found 2 what I would call loose bolts that attach the fender to the frame.  One was what I would consider real loose.  I tighten on the fender bolts and haven't had problems like the one in this thread.

While  I'm not sure, I think the bike shop removed my rear fender while attaching the rear rack.

What kind of seat is that?  Wondering if the springs make the ride smoother?  My standard seat doesn't is a bit on the rough side over bumps.

I'm guessing the above thought was the reason for this mishap. I have about 700 miles now on my Mission without this happening.  I ordered the fender package ONLY because I liked the look of it.  Don't do any riding in the rain. 

Did you assemble your Mission or have the bike assembled and delivered?  I read the do-it-yourself booklet and it talks about the different torque setting for all the bolts.  Tomorrow I'm going to check the bolts that hold my fenders on.  I had the rear rack put on by a local bike shop and don't know if they had to take the fender off to install the rack.

Thanks for your email about upgrading your display. Unfortunately we do not recommend changing your Max Speed to above 20MPH or 32 KMH as the bikes are designed with this speed in mind.
On the upgraded LCD you are able to check your top speed in settings and the display has many great features like an odometer, speedometer and backlighting



If you're looking to ride up to 25 MPH WITHOUT pedaling, I think it wouldn't be worth the effort with the "fix gearing".  Even at 20 MPH,  it's necessary to crank the pedals way too fast above 15-20 MPH.  What the Rad Mission really needs is a over drive gear so that the pedals don't have to be cranks so fast.  However, with just a higher overall gear, you would lose some of the ability to pedal with the assist turned off.  I generally ride my Mission on level ground at 10-12 MPH WITHOUT pedal assist.  With a higher rear wheel gearing, I would lose non pedal assist riding that would shorten overall range. 

And then it would need a derailleur which would add to the weight. The Mission is a great city bike though IMO.   Love mine with now around 750 miles on it.
