I got a bike platform from e trailer, recommended for ebikes, will take two heavy bikes, 75 lbs per bike for $280.  Rola Convoy 2.  It fits a 2" receiver, tilts down and up and is simple to attach the bikes.  So far has worked great.

General Chat / Bike covers when on rack.
August 20, 2020, 08:03:53 PM
Does anyone know of a bike cover when the bike is on a rack on a car.  Something that would keep the bike dry if you got into a rain storm while transporting the bike.  Also does anyone know of a plug you can put in the outlet on the bike when you take the battery off and put the bike on a bike rack on a car so dirt/water will not get into the connection port?

General Chat / Re: ebike speed when pedaling

Wife and I are in our 70's, live in Kansas, we usually don't go over 1 pedal assist on flat ground and can maintain a speed of 10 - 15 mph easily (depends on the Kansas wind :) }.  The manual for our rad city suggests you keep a speed of 10 mph to keep the battery cool.  The key we found is that it is a bike so you work the gears and pedal assist together to get the speed and effort you want to use. You will love the bikes, we ride 20 or so miles per day and have a contest to see who can use the least pedal assist when we want some exercise.  Just enjoy.

When I took our rad city bikes in for the first 100 mile tune up to our local bike shop (trex bikes shop) the first words the tech said was,  wow these are nice tires.  However I had him add their version of slime to each tire and so far with over 600 miles, no flats.

I bought Rolla bike platform from e trailer.  Will hold one bike up to 85 pounds and two up to 75 lbs each.  Great product.  They require a 2" receiver on your vehicle.  Cost for two bike platform was $270, free shipping.  Easy to put your bikes on and easy to secure.  Might take a look

Just got 2, rad city and step through for Christmas, so far wife and I love them, however, the LCD display does not seem to show battery use.  Rode today and when removed the battery and checked the gauge on the battery is showed one red bar which I expected but When the battery was on the bike the LCD display showed all 5 black bars.  This was true for both bikes?
