I have that rack. I have a RadRunner Plus which weighs 74 lbs and it fits on very securely.  I?m really nervous about hauling my expensive ebike around but so far it doesn?t seem to move a bit. I strap it down good and away I go. My only dislike of this rack is that it is heavy (50 lbs) and a handful to get started into the hitch receiver on my SUV. it also is quite large and does not fold up so storing it in my garage is a bit of a challenge.

Service & Repair / Tire Pressure
September 22, 2021, 12:32:15 PM
Can someone help me on this issue. I just got a new RadRunner Plus with 20X3.3 tires. The manufacturer claims that tire pressure is on the side of the tire and that may be true, but after the highly reflective stripe is added and you have 74 year old eyes I cannot see if it there and what it might say. So can someone give me an idea of the correct pressure for my tires. Currently I'm keeping them at 30 PSI. Hope that's close. Thanks for any help.

Service & Repair / Honk kind of a noise
September 17, 2021, 12:12:36 PM
I have a three week old RadRunner Plus that I really love. I have over 150 mile so far. Only one question or concern. When the bike is sitting still and I gently turn the handlebars one way or the other I get this noise, kind of sounds like a low volume goose call. I know that sounds stupid but I'm having a hard time describing the noise. It's not audible while I'm riding. It sounds like it could be coming from the area where the quick connect rod for the front wheel is located. But I have loosened and retightened that quick connect and the noise is still there. It's not a big thing but annoying if the bike is standing still and you move the wheel from side to side. Any help or advise appreciated.

General Chat / Re: Odometer reset itself
September 13, 2021, 01:05:20 PM
I'm not sure I have the answer but I have an idea. My RadRunner Plus did the same thing with only three miles on the odometer. Here is my theory. If you remove the battery after a ride, either to recharge in the house or to put the bike on a rack for transport and you DON'T push the mode button to discharge the controller or whatever needs tp be discharged it leads to the odometer resetting. At least in my case that is what has happened. I always bring my battery in the house for recharge because it can get really warm in my garage. The first time, with only three miles, I did not do that and the odometer reset. Now after theorizing this my odometer reads 119 and has not reset. I'm only guessing but if your odometer has reset try making sure you discharge by pushing the mode button after you turn the key to off then remove the battery and see if this helps your situation.

Waysidehouse: No I have not. I just got my ebike a week or so ago and I'm having a ball riding on the country roads around my house. Where is this Empire Trail? Is there a place to park and unload? Any advise is appreciated.....

Just got a very nice email from Rad. They are also replacing my display. Since the first reset my odometer has been fine but I'm concerned about down the road. Great service by a great company.

Service & Repair / Manual

Does anyone or any company offer a service manual for electric bike specifically for Rad bike or even better for RadRunner Plus? Something like maybe a good qualified repair man or company might have.

Service & Repair / Odometer Reset
August 28, 2021, 02:44:55 PM
Just got my new RadRunner Plus and this morning I took it out for the first ride. Put just three miles on it just to get aquatinted with it. Took the battery off and took it in the house for a recharge (didn't need it). This afternoon I decided that I would again take her for a spin. When I put the battery on and turned the bike on I looked and the odometer reads "0". So I took a longer ride (10 miles) and everything seems to stay correct. Kind of wondering what happened the first time???

Service & Repair / Dielectric Grease
August 27, 2021, 05:22:39 PM
Just received my new RadRunner Plus and finished putting it together. Was wondering if applying dielectric grease to the battery connectors and lighting connectors is OK. Don't want to hurt anything but have always counted on dielectric grease to help keep connectors dry and not corroding.
