General Chat / Re: Speed and responsibility

I'm guessing some communities were going to ban ebikes on paths regardless of mods or speeding. And likely banned all bikes, since you dont need an ebike to speed. I could easily keep up with traffic on my old 10 speed. Speeding might not even be the reason for the ban, some people just dont want bikes on their walking paths.

That said, its important to advocate for the bike community when anything is being discussed regarding biking in your area. Whether its talk of bans, or improvements and more paths. Make sure you put the responsibility for bad behavior on the rider, not the type of bike the rider was using. All cars are capable of speeding, but its the driver that is responsible for it, not the car.

The pannier bags are collapsible? They look cool! Would you mind sharing more information about those?

Yes, they are collapsible. Bushwhacker USA is the brand, bought them on Amazon. Keep in mind that they are fairly light duty. And I had to rig my own means of mounting them where I wanted them. Needed a 3/8ths aluminum rod each, zap straps, and nylon straps with snap buttons to beef up the carry weigh capacity. To get them secure and placed just right. But it was worth it.

I bought a cooler to fit in the upper large basket. Very versatile addition.

Ive got 1500k on my radwagon. And so far ive only had to adjust the brakes. Althought it looks like I might have to replace brake cables next spring. Got some strand breakage. But thats pretty normal for brake cables, on any bike. I ride it pretty hard, and its often heavy with stuff. Other than that, no problems.
