General Chat / Re: Spammed by ads.

Thank you Ryan for the update. I (We) appreciate it. I especially thank you for keeping only the anchored ads. It makes the site more approachable. I follow the Ebike Escape channel so I know how busy you are. Your efforts at keeping the forum functioning well is appreciated.
Hopefully we will be able to survive the upheaval taking place in the cycling and e-biking industries. With luck we only have another year before it begins to settle down again.

It's day three so far and nothing has changed. So disappointed. :-(

General Chat / Spammed by ads.

There's too many ads on the forum site now. EVERYTIME I click the mouse I have to pass over two or more ads. If this doesn't change within a week I'm done! Far too much garbage.
This is a great forum but it's being ruined with Google Ads.

Very cool. Nice video.

OMG those close calls are scary. I've had a few but not quite like that!

I don't own a RR6+ so I don't know for sure but that "cable" in pic 2 sure looks like it's a hydraulic line for hydraulic brakes.
When you tested it and the brakes worked were you testing just the faulty one or did you, out of habit, use both brakes? I suggest you test it again and use only the faulty one. That may point you in the right direction.

RadExpand / Re: Suspension Seat Post

I can't comment on the seat hitting a trunk bag but I have put the Suntour SP 12 NCX on my Radwagon 4 and it works great. I had to use a 30.8 mm shim but I have had it on for more than a year and it hasn't slipped or moved. It is an excellent low cost suspension seat post.

That's excellent DickB. Good data.
Thank you.

Quote from: jastewart325 on September 05, 2024, 09:42:19 PMFor quick in-and-out stops I think a frame lock and a motion sensor alarm are sufficient. The motion sensor has the additional advantage of potentially preventing the theft of accessories.
I like the idea of the motion sensor alarm. I'm concerned about theft of accessories too.

BTW, in my previous post I incorrectly said I have a Barronium D Lock. Actually it's a Litelok X3 and the stuff it's made of is called Barronium. They also make a Litelok X1. It's also angle grinder resistant but it is not as angle grinder resistant as the X3. Sorry about any confusion I may have caused.

I don't know how long they are but they are 12 gauge I believe.

I don't understand how a Rad motor could spin in the frame. Rad doesn't make frame mounted motors. Only hub drives. Maybe they have another customers bike confused with yours?

I believe the new safe shield batteries have circuit breakers instead of fuses. Not 100% sure though. I also don't have any information on how to reset the circuit breakers but I have a VERY distant thought of buying one for my RW4 as Rad says they will fit.

Naranja_CT5+ nice chain. 12 mm? That's big. I have a Kryptonite chain for my bike and it's about the same thickness I think. HEAVY. Are you sure a chain that big fit on your shackle?

Around 1970 I had a 10 speed road bike. It was expensive for the time and I used to bring it inside wherever I went. I kept it for a few decades and never had it stolen. I often had to explain what I was doing and why. No one objected. Sadly we can't do that anymore. Too many bikes and too few understanding people.
My current bike is a RW4 and I use a heavy Kryptonite chain lock, an older segmented and hardened bike lock similar to the Abus lock and an X3 Barronium D lock. Even though my bike's not worth much, as compared to a Tern cargo bike for example, I still don't feel comfortable leaving it for more than 30 minutes at a time.
At least with the Barronium D lock, it is so portable angle grinder resistant the thief would have to cut the bike stand and take my bike with the lock still attached. It would definitely make identification easier. LOL They would also have to cut the frame to remove it so, for them, it would make the bike worthless. The motor, controller and other parts not so much.

That looks nice. Very secure. I also like that it's kind of hidden from a casual observer.
I would like to do something similar to my RW4 but,,,, oh well. -)

Hi CanadianBrickCafe,
Check out Grin Technologies. They are situated somewhere in the Lower Mainland. I'm further north so I usually say they are in "Vancouver" but I don't know their location.
They can supply you with controllers, displays, direct drive hub motors and gear driven hub motors.
