Yes, it just floats there. And of course that was a concern, and the reason why I folded the metal for reinforcement. It's surprisingly stable though. The down tube is maybe 6" away, but I suppose a brace connected to it could be installed. So far, I see no need to.

Tired of ruining my cuffs with black chain grease. I do use bike cuff clips (get those on eBay), but they are not always effective. So I finally made a chain guard for my RadRunner Gen I.
You'll need a saber saw with a metal cutting blade, and a good gauge cookie sheet works well for the metal. I folded it along the top edge, and along the wide end where it is bolted to the frame to give it needed double-thickness extra strength. I used the two existing holes on the frame to secure it with bolts. There is just the right amount of space between the pedal and the chain, so it does not scrape the guard (final photo).

General Chat / SLOW shipping, me only or everyone?
November 29, 2021, 11:23:44 AM

I ordered two Rad accessories on Nov 17, that's 12 days ago! Both were marked "ships in 3 days."

They STILL have not even been shipped from the warehouse.  I called after the first week and was told there was a "glitch."
But still nothing.

Is this happening to everyone at this time?

Thanks

RadRunner / Re: Chain slipping while pedaling hard

Rad was going to send me new tensioner, but also suggested the link removal, which I tried first. Simply having my bike mechanic remove one link-pair from the chain completely fixed the problem for me. Took about five minutes in the shop.
