I ride my bike to work and park it in the parking garage (in front of a power outlet...shhhh). I actually throw a cover over it, lock the cover, wheels, and frame together with a 39 foot cable from Amazon.  Then I arm the alarm. :D

For quick groceries I use a ulock and shorter cable, and arm the alarm. The alarm is loud and obnoxious. I live in San Diego, ebike theft is HUGE. Alarm is necessary, and not too expensive on Amazon.

Hi count please let me know how the install of the 1000w motor went for you with the cable exit being on the brake side. I am in the market for a 750 watt with the correct cable exit, but can only find 1000 watt on Ali Express website. Thanks! -Heidi

Will this motor found in Ali express be compatible with the radrunner  plus? Looks like the wire exits in the brake side.

Is that the case for the radrunner plus? I am thinking of swapping motors I just want to make sure it's compatible.

Here is a pic of the underside where I attached the backrest to the bike.

I literally used heavy duty zip ties. To show pictures I would have to uninstall the seat. I couldn’t find the right hardware to match the screwholes in the frame. So I bought what I thought would work best, a t bracket from Home Depot and zip tied the ish out of it. The backrest is just so my 9 year old doesn’t feel like he will fall off the back. It’s false security for sure.

Rad Modifications / Radrunner plus coming along!

Added backrest using a t-plate from Home Depot (the seat cushion is on my Radwagon). Velo Orange bottle cage for my nalgene. Quadlock phone mount. Ars seat with handle. Zip tied some quick links for mounting panniers. Contemplating a front rack but I like the light mounted on the fender. Wonder when Rad will get the center console back in stock?

Thinking of trying the 2nd battery mod and using the parallel wire from Bolton. I'm not very savvy with electric things so it kinda makes me nervous.

I included a pic of my Radwagon seat configuration. These bikes are fun to mod !

RadRunner / Re: Passenger backrest ideas?

I ended up using a t plate from Home Depot. I had to use heavy duty zip ties to fix it to the rack because the screws didn't line up just right, but the backrest screwed in nice to the plate. I also put additional foot pegs for the little guy. I'm happy and my kids feel more secure.

RadRunner / Passenger backrest ideas?
January 27, 2021, 09:01:55 PM
Hi everyone, I have a RRplus arriving soon and I'm looking for ideas to install a backrest to the passenger seat. I would like to keep the Rad seat, but having a hard time finding a suitable backrest (so my 9 year old doesn't fall off the back).  Has anyone found one that fits the Radrunner?

Use heavy duty zipties to secure some quick link carabiners to the rack, pretty much any pannier will clip on to the caribiners perfectly. Sorry I don't have a photo.

Haven't heard any buzz about a Rad power Black Friday event for 2020. Anyone?

I'm kicking myself! Everything that I gripe about with the Radwagon 3 was addressed with the new bike! And I just purchased it a couple months ago :(  it looks shorter and lighter too, like I could legally take it on the commuter train. Oh well.

I let my kids build a fort with it. Then it rained. It was much easier to cut it up after that :)

Hi everyone, I have been using this  SKS-Germany 11231 Anywhere Bicycle Attachment Water Bottle Mount with Top Cage Bottle Holder https://amzn.to/2YXtSTI For my water bottle solution. It works great and doesn't budge.

Hi john! Okay let me know when you're ready, we can exchange info. I was actually thinking of upgrading with Bolton for more battery and more power. It makes me nervous though. - Heidi

Hello,

I'm in the process of upgrading my RadRunner with a new 35a controller and 52v battery setup, so looking to sell the stock RadPower battery.  Will put up a listing as soon as I figure out how to.  I bought and assembled bike this past Christmas and being in Wyoming have only recently started riding, so no more than 15 charge cycles.  Would include the charger and the slide mount for $395 plus shipping.
