I brought a RAD City 5 Plus a little over a month ago and rode it about 250 miles when the right pedal "blew up". While riding it, it unscrewed itself and fell off. Picked it up, brought it home and checked out the insides of the pedal. The metal insides appeared mashed up, like they had been through an industrial blender.
At only 250 miles? Of the tens of thousands of miles I've ridden bikes, I never have had a pedal failure. This lack of pedal quality is worrisome.
Other than that, I love my bike; it rides great; the Rad phone people are the best I've ever encountered in being helpful and supportive. (They are sending out new pedals now. )
What do you think? Is this a one-off, or a sign?
Thanks for your thoughts,
Steve
