General Chat / Re: Time delay for an order
April 11, 2022, 04:00:23 PM
I ordered fenders on Feb. 18 and have not received them! I realize the shipping delays are not their fault, but their lack of communication and unwillingness to answer questions has been a huge letdown. Every time I reach out they say my fenders will be shipped "next week". But next week never comes and neither does the information.

General Chat / Re: Battery Charging Recommendations
March 17, 2022, 08:54:10 PM
I'm not as knowledgeable as a lot of people in this forum and I'd be more than happy if they correct anything I say. I've done a lot of research about extending battery life, because it's the most expensive component on the bike. According to Rad, it's totally fine to fully charge your battery after every use, however that's mainly so you have a fully charged battery every time you want to hop on your bike. My understanding is that this does nothing to damage your battery. However, what you're  doing is probably better. If you're taking it for short rides and have a certain percentage left, you can keep riding until it's at the lower range and needs to be charged back up. It's definitely not good to have the life sucked out of it, because it can actually, well, die. But if you're keeping an eye on it and topping it up before it gets to the point of no return, it could extend the life of your battery. Each time you charge the battery, it's making your battery work and in a sense, using up energy which over time adds up and shortens the overall life. In conclusion, charging every day does not damage your battery, but charging more when it really needs the boost is gentler on the battery and helps to lengthen its life.

I'm definitely not an expert and to be honest, I don't even drive. I'm responding mainly because I happen to live in Toronto and have been riding my RadRunner around the city for about six months. Ironically, my dream was always to buy a Vespa! (I even wear a Vespa helmet). Most of the time I'm able to ride right past the Vespas because the traffic on the bike lanes is comparatively lower. I can ride my eBike to most places much faster than a vehicle stuck in traffic. The bike is a moped style, so you feel like your on a scooter, but it has the versatility of a bike, so I can ride it to many places you can't get to on a scooter. I ride through the ravines; especially along the Don River. I highly recommend it. In terms of safety, I have been shocked by how many people don't look out for bikes. When riding on bike lanes you always need to watch out for people who jaywalk right through the bike lane without checking for cyclists. Drivers likewise don't check for cyclists and quite often pull over in unprotected bike lanes. More and more of the bike lanes are becoming "protected" and as long as you keep an eye out for jaywalkers, it's truly a joy to zip through the city.
