Start by replacing the brake pads - they wear out and the brake lever goes all the way in when you squeeze it.

Quote from: inoxa on May 18, 2024, 06:54:18 AMwhy not use extensions? they are available.

Using the shorter step through controller is not a good idea for the high step because besides the risk of having more loose connections in the power cable if one adds an extension to them, having more connectors will also cause more resistance in the power cable than if only using a uncut full length cable.  Additionally, the ends of the shorter cables of the step-through model controller will stop partway down the battery downtube which means the thick power cable connector will stick up in the battery tray channel higher and causes the metal plate that sits under the battery to bend upwards. this causes the battery to lift slightly up and makes it hard to lock the battery in.

Although it works the same as the right controller, if one has a high step Rover 6 +, I would not recommend getting the ST (step through) model controller.

RadRover / Rad Rover 6+ power lock box
June 10, 2022, 01:25:43 PM
Hello,

I just joined the group and have been riding my 6+ for the last four days since I got it.  I love everything about it except the terrible lack of a power on/off lock!

Anyways, I just designed a basic yet functional locking box that fits over the PAS/Power control box and is lockable with a small luggage lock.  It is plastic and won't keep vandals out, but at least kids and honest adults won't mess with it and accidentally turn it on.

I posted a link about it and to the free files on Thingverse in the Rad Modifications Forum but would like to hear back from members here who try out the box for any input on how I may make it better.

Thanks!

Hi all,

as my first post to this group, I made a 3D printed locking box that covers the PAS/Power control so honest folks and children won't be able to turn the power on.  The files are at ThingVerse (link below).

It is copyrighted under creative commons - which means you may only make it for yourself and not sell it.  If you don't have access to a 3D printer, there are some services on ThingVerse (and others) that can make one for you for a fee.  Sorry, I am not selling this and can't print them for others.

Hopefully, it helps keep your bike a bit safer!
