RadRunner / Re: Bike rack for two RadRunner V2 bikes

I have this, it holds 200lbs and can fit the fat tires. Not fancy at all but inexpensive and carries the bikes. Travelled a few hundred miles with it and no issues.

Radmission batteries just went on sale for $200 with free shipping on their site.  That's another reason to believe it's being discontinued or replaced with a new version.

I just picked up another.  Using PayPal Honey gets you another $28.55 off.

I was one of those that grabbed one at $499.  It came in a box that had it labeled as a Radmission 1.5.  Anyone know what the 1.5 is about?

I have two Radmissions, one from the sale and one from a year ago. The new one has different front and rear lights, there may be some other component differences that I didn?t notice.

Yes, I'm not really sure. On Eggrider's facebook page it seems like most people set theirs to 18 or 19 for sport mode. I think 24 is the max, but if you set it too high it will just go back to whatever is the controller's default.

Make sure you set the wheel size to the smallest you can in Lishui settings, and put the accurate wheel size in Display settings. This will give you the most speed, but leave the GPS accurate.

some more pics

Thx everyone for help.

Those red and black wires are probably supposed to be connected to something. I?m not quite sure what part that?s attached to. There should not be exposed wires like that, they got torn/separated from wherever they should go.

Now you know why he?s ghosting you, he did a hack job on the bike and dumped it on you.

It could be salvageable though.

I just swapped the rear 16 tooth freewheel with an 18 tooth. Didn?t lose much top end, better torque starting out and on hills. Easy swap to do.

Is it easier to start out pedaling with no battery?

Can anyone suggest a less expensive car hitch rack for 2 Rad runners?  I know the Hollywood is probably the best but trying to save some $.

This one is the cheapest you'll find, and it works great. You need a 2" hitch for it.

My dad got my mom the Radrover too, but even with the step through it's very big on her. She has a hard time getting on it. When she uses my Radrunner and Radmission it's much easier for her. She's 5'4.

I wouldn't go over the max weight for a bike rack. If it only holds 60lbs total it's probably pretty flimsy. I have a trunk rack that I put my Radmission on that has two slots, 35lbs each but 70lbs total, and it seems OK. But that bike is only 45lbs so it's under the total rated weight.

I would look for another rack if you can, even if it has two slots and you only use one. If you're set on risking it with this rack, something you can do that can help is connect a ratchet strap or two from the rack to the roof racks of the car. That will take a little bit of pressure off the rack.

The Northern Tools bike carrier is no longer available. You should change it to this the Fultyme RV 1300 rack. It's the same exact product, except for the box it comes in.

thought I would add a photo

If you put 3 or 5 gears in the rear wheel and not change the front at all, do you think that would work?

It would be so great to have this bike be somewhat useful with no battery.

That is so scummy. I don?t know if you can do anything to escalate it, but that?s ridiculous. I would be put off of buying a Rad bike if I knew they 1) ship defective batteries, 2) won?t even fix the broken battery they sent you.

I use an outlet timer, it runs from 9pm - 9am when I want to balance the battery. So I effectively do the same thing as you, the battery is already plugged in, and then at 9pm it starts getting power.

Is that screenshot you added their reasoning for denying your claim? Because their charger should protect it against damage just from plugging it in.

I wish Rad would honor an accessory purchase (first time) from someone who bought a new bike in April. I needed the time to see what I needed.  They should put these out there periodically anyway!

I bought two bikes thinking I could do that. I just wanted to get the order in cause I was set on the bikes and they take forever to ship, and I wasn?t sure about accessories yet.

When I found out I couldn?t get the discount after the bike purchase, I just got stuff from Amazon. Rad?s loss.

Pretty darn clever! Is the inside of the box padded or lined?

No, just metal. It is waterproof, although probably not anymore with the holes I drilled.

You can see the inside of the box from the Amazon listing.
