Just saw a Reddit thread saying Rad's CEO is out, and most of the officer positions are empty. CFO only one left.  Not a good sign.

On the bright side, maybe there will be a battery sale . . .

Have you checked the fuse?  What is the serial number on the battery - could then tell if it has replaceable blade fuse or the tougher soldered in one.

Thirdlife - I think that is what you are looking for - thats from page 7 of the thread on replacing the fuses in the semi-integrated batteries. I think thats what you are looking for. There was another possible source on page 6 of that thread?

Only asking because I have a 6+ en route to me from rad now and all this battery talk has me thinking I should have a plan if/when it happens to me. I'm assuming I'll be receiving the newer battery configuration with the soldered fuses. Maybe I'll luck out and get the older style though.

Another option might be to just leave the old fuse in place, bend the leads on an axial lead fuse, and solder in parallel.

Rad did make me send a video of charging procedure, and photos of serial #, keys, and charging port on battery before honoring the warranty claim. 

Do a search on FB for Rad Power Bikes.  Their main FB page, with the logo and link to the website pops up. Not too tough to find.

Get on Facebook and find Rad?s most recent Facebook posts. Should be able to just search for Rad Power Bikes. Add a comment to their post detailing what your issue is and ask for help. Be polite, and maybe tie it in to wHatever their post is about.   But let them know you really need a response. I?m not on FB but did that  through Instagram and got a response within hours and a part sent the next day.You could also send them a message through Facebook Messenger.

Jetty Island Jim - try politely reaching out to Rad thru social media describing the problem. They have at least one person tasked with addressing social media issues, and she?s pretty responsive and helpful. I just picked up a new RR6+ that had a part damaged in shipping and received a really quick response by reaching out that way.

I am just amazed at the number of complaints of DOA bikes.  You'd think Rad would test them before shipping (or are they being damaged in shipping?).

We have 3 Rads with semi-integrated batteries. One is more than a year old and has been problem free.  One spontaneously shorted after 2 months - Rad honored the warranty claim.  It was a fried fuse - I was able to replace the fuse (thanks to this forum) so have a spare.  Both the warranty battery and the one I fixed haven't had any problems in the last year.  Although I've seen lots of complaints about customer service, I picked up another RR6+ on sale recently.  Its been fine (so far - knock on wood. . .).

Rad has had a number of rounds of layoffs.  Last one was around 80 people, and word was a bunch were in customer service.  They have gone to email only for submitting help requests.

On Reddit, some former Rad employees suggested reaching out through social media to try and get help.  They also suggested reaching out to the CEO or others you can find on LinkedIn.  Apparantly there are folks tasked with clearing issues like that off of the C-suite's plate.

I did that recently for a problem with a new RR6+ (my family's 2nd one).  It was damaged in shipping and needed a new part.  Submitted an email ticket on Wednesday and got the automated response.  Reached out politely on social media on Thursday and got a response within an hour.  Part I needed was ordered on Friday and shipped on Monday.  It wasn't the regular customer service channel, but it was a pretty quick and solid response from Rad.

Keep trying. . .

Former Rad employee on Reddit had a good suggestion.  Said contacting CEO through LinkedIn or commenting on social media about the problem are pretty reliable ways of getting a quicker response. 

Haven't upgraded but will be following this with interest.  Keep us posted on how it goes!

They laid off another 80 employee- sounds like most were in customer service. Looks like they are transitioning to the chat function with the leaner team until things smooth out. Folks on reddit are saying they are evebtually getting assistance thru the chat function. I think their modified hours are 9:00 PST - 3:00. Good luck.
