General Chat / Re: Rad City ST.....Very Nice Ride!

I have about 650 miles on my new Rad City ST. Love my bike! Only maintenance so far is cleaning/lubing the chain and tightening a couple spokes that caused a clicking sound. :)

I have a Hollywood rack (cargo bike/fat tire combo) sitting in the box at the moment. I will be doing a review soon for my YouTube channel but for now if you want to check them out:

This is the same brand that Rad sells directly on their website. I have heard good things but want to see it first hand until it gets my seal of approval  8). You can also check out the Overdrive racks on Amazon which I know some folks opt for (they are cheaper): https://amzn.to/2Qnv5i8

I opted for the Overdrive rack and can tell you that it works fine for 1 big fat tire bike. It hold the bike very securely. I would not put a second one on it.

I use an Overdrive Sport 2 rack which works similar to a Hollywood. They are considerably less money and mine has worked great for over a year. When mounted on my Ford f150 4 wheel drive it does requires you to lift the bike pretty high to get it in the rack. I can't imagine putting it in the bed over the tailgate. These bikes are heavy!

General Chat / Rad shipping box?
May 08, 2020, 05:44:54 AM
Maybe this has been answered before but I've never seen it. What are you supposed to do with the shipping box? I'm pretty sure that I couldn't repack the bike in it the way it came and I can't imagine any case where you would have to ship it back unless it was totaled by the shipping company when it was received. I really would like to pitch it. I don't have room to store it.

Hi. Jim here from southeast Michigan. I just got a Rad City step through and am really enjoying it. I've had an e bike from another maker for a year or so and while I liked it ok I decided to step up a bit. I'm 73 and recently began feeling my age. I cannot swing my legs over a bike seat as well as I once could and decided a step through would be a better fit. I'm glad I did. The Rad City is very easy to mount and dismount. The weather hasn't been very cooperative since it came but I have had a chance to put about 100 miles on it. The roads and bike paths here are kind of rough so I opted for the suspension seat post. Between that and the suspension front forks the ride is pretty smooth.
