Get 500 in five weeks and your average will still be secure. Glad you are getting out. That is what I love about my rad. No more excuse for not getting out.

General Chat / Re: Is this normal?

Hi there,

I will see how it performs over time. I did not do the three step process before riding since it wasn't covered in the videos I watched or the manual. I did later see a rad video recommending the three step charge. Fortunately I was able to do that with my wife's bike that arrived three weeks later.

General Chat / Is this normal?
September 09, 2020, 09:51:19 AM
Hi there,

I was wondering if what I see on my controller is normal.  I ride most of the time on power assist level two.  When the battery is fully charged (five bars) the watt output is usually 140+.  As the charge is used, the watt output changes.  At three bars remaining the output is about 12.  When it gets down to one bar the output is 82.  Is this what others experience as well?

Thanks

Hi there,

Congratulations on the 200 miles in two weeks.  That is great.  Were you a bicycle rider before or did the e-bike get you out?

General Chat / Re: Lets track delivery schedules

I ordered two Rad Minis (1 Mini4 and one ST2) on 6/28.  Commitment was "September Delivery".  I received the black Mini4 on 8/5 and the White ST2 on 8/27 so they essentially over achieved.  I would also say I have been immensely happy.  I have 200 miles on the Mini4 in the first month.

So the final answer is no setting is exactly correct. Set at 22" it measures the ride at 7.0 miles compared to 6.76 via gps. At 20" it underestimates compared to the gps. I guess it comes down to personal preference. Either way I am loving my new rad mini.  100 miles since I received it two weeks ago.  Thanks everyone for chiming in on this topic.

Thanks for the guidance. Started my ride set to 24 and that over estimated first 2 miles. Recalibrated to 22" for next portion of the ride and then as luck would have it tire started going flat :-(  So i managed to limp home and practice my tire patching skills. Will try again tomorrow with controller set to 22".

A small thorn proved to much for the puncture resistant tires. Good thing I bought a patch kit.

Thanks for the additional info. They controller was set at 24" when I received the bike two weeks ago. I changed it to 20" and will test it back at 24".

I agree it is certainly within a range of tolerance  but based on suggestions I will try adjusting wheel size in the controller to see which one is the most accurate.  I appreciate the insight and guidance.

General Chat / Controller vs GPS mileage
August 20, 2020, 08:21:36 AM
Hi there,

I am a new Rad Mini owner and I am really enjoying my new ride.  80 miles in 10 days!  I have noticed that my bike controller shows one mileage and my Apple Watch and iPhone show a different mileage.  The difference on my average ride is 6.3 on the bike controller and 6.6 on the watch and phone.  I have also looked at google maps and the mileage aligns to the watch/phone distance.   I have made sure the controller is set on a 20" wheel.  Has anyone else noticed this?  Is there a method to calibrate it?   TIA Bob

I know how you feel. One of the Rad Minis in my order shipped today (7/31) ordered on 6/28 and was told to expect September. Still no racks in stock so now quandary is wait or buy a third party rack.

General Chat / Gears versus Pedal Assist
July 08, 2020, 11:46:41 AM
Hi there,

As I anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new Rad Minis (in September  :-[ )I am trying to familiarize myself with how they work.  Can anyone explain the interaction between the pedal assist and the traditional gears.  Do you find yourself using different pedal assist levels or changing gears?  Do they complement one another or are the gears less useful?

Thanks from an anxious new owner
