Yep they get pretty hot.

I had the same issue with my charger. Rad answered my email when I asked about it and they said "it is normal for the charger to get hot and uncomfortable to hold on to. Like the outside of a hot paper cup of coffee without the sleeve."
The only side that got really hot was the side it sits on while charging. What I've done is turn the charger on it's side while it's charging so it can shed some of the heat. It seems to work as I can hold it without a lot of discomfort.
