hi

wife's step through rad 5 allows for the existing led light to fit on the steering column so when you turn the bike the light follows as before I installed the front basket that Santa brought this year.

my same bike but not a step through doesn't have as much room between the front fender and the basket as the step through bike my wife has.  thus, the light cant rotate underneath the basket.  the basket assembly come with an extension electric cord so that the light can attach to the basket, but when you turn the bike at night the light does not turn with the bike. the basket is stationary.

not safe for night riding.  bad design for sure.  any suggestions?  rad rover needs to design a different bracket which attaches as before but is relatively straight so that when mounted the light can turn under the basket and not be encumbered.  thx for reading.

Maybe it's just me, but I view the headlight more so like a daytime running light on a car. It's great to let traffic know you are there, but maybe not bright enough for regular nighttime riding. If you ride a lot at night, why not just buy an aftermarket headlight. They are pretty cheap nowadays.

I agree that the stock headlight (and even the optional "premium" light, which is not) is pretty useless except as a running light.

I use this one and am extremely happy with it: https://amzn.to/3ts7cuh
Mounts securely, but pops right off for charging or for use as a handheld flashlight.
Shucks Ma'am, I'm no "Hero Member", I just like to wear this cape.

I second the Planet Bike light, though I have the 600 SLX. I can't imagine it being brighter. It is my favorite light out of the ones I've tested - well worth the higher price in my opinion.

My Rad headlight slowly failed last week, but I'm ordering a replacement because I agree it does make a good "be seen" light. I get off work just before sunset, so I ride at night a lot. My main light for actually seeing is a Nitecore BR35. I did get caught out in the country one evening without it, and although the Rad headlight alone was insufficient, it was good to have SOMETHING that is always there!
