Extending Cables To Raise My Handlebar

I raised my handlebar on my Rad Rover Six Plus but had to bring it down a little because the cables were stretched tight with the wheel turned all the way. I want to raise it more so I can sit more upright and take the pressure off my wrists. Does anyone have any ideas on how to lengthen my cables so I can raise my handlebar higher? Rad said they can?t help. It?s too bad they don?t sell a cable extension.

I replaced rear cables to raise handlebars on my Radrunner and my Radmission. Amazon has an assortment of kits. I measured the length I'd need. I found that one was 4" shorter, I think, than advertised. I went to the trouble of mounting it and discovered that it was 2" shorter than needed.

I found a way to use the old cable to fish the new one in order to get the end to come out the lower hole in the down tube.

I didn't have cutters for wire as hard as modern bike cables. I used a cutoff wheel on an angle grinder. To prevent fraying, I gripped it with pliers a couple of mm from where I cut. I also used the cutoff wheel on the housings. Then I reamed the hole to smooth it so the cable would come through.

The Rad Rover 6+ has hydraulic brakes and the I think the lines would be easy to replace. It is the electrical cables that are the problem for me. The wires go down the handlebar to the controller. I assume the connectors are not going to be found on a generic cable. I don?t know if it is possible to splice in a section of wire to add length.

This is what I Amazon says I bought to extend the brake sensor cable on my Radmission. There's a mistake. The link shows 3-pin (orange  connector) cable, but I bought 2-pin (red connector) cables.

I thought I was getting extenders with a male and a female end. Instead, each was a male or female connector with leads 20cm long. I soldered them together. I was glad I had a temperature-controlled iron because 26-gauge stranded is delicate. Coming from one connector, I cut one color wire an inch shorter. Coming from the other connector, I cut the other color shorter. That way, my solder connections were staggered so they wouldn't short together. I think I covered it with heat-shrink tubing. The resulting extender was nearly 40 cm long. I looped the excess and fastened it with a velcro strap.

If you can find reasonably short 2-pin (red) extenders with male and female ends, you won't have to splice.

They had all cables for my 2021 MiniST2 except the one I really needed when I installed the 35A controller upgrade - the 10-pin display cable, shown below.  I couldn't find one of those available anyplace a year ago, but haven't searched again since.  The stock cable is just barely long enough; I was trying to add a little extra slack.

I didn?t know the cables were generic enough or popular enough to be sold on Amazon. I?ll take a look. Thanks.

I searched for Rad Rover 6 plus cable and several choices are available. Hopefully I can determine if they are the right size for my bike. I?ll be really happy if I can solve my problem. Thanks.

claims to fit the Rad Rover. I was expecting something 6 inches long not 32. I wonder what?s worse, splicing in a cable the perfect length or plug n play that?s way too long.

Any chance the 32 is long enough to do the job and could just completely replace the original?  Not familiar with that bike model's wiring.
