Broken Light Mount

I have a RadCity from 2018 and have the small front-mounted basket. Because the original light didn't have a mount once the basket was installed, Rad sent me one of the new, brighter lights that's now standard. To me it seemed light a heavy light for the small mount point and the small bolt, and I could never seem to get it tight enough to prevent the light from falling down or falling backward. I added a lock washer and it helped for a while. But after a year the plastic mount broke. Probably my fault from overtightening, but also it seemed like an engineering flaw to have a relatively heavy light balancing on a small fulcrum made of plastic. I now have a light that works perfectly fine but no good way to attach it to the bike. I've thought about crafting my own housing for the light but I'm wondering if others have had this issue and what solutions they've tried. I'd rather not buy another $40 light, particularly when it has what I perceive to be a design flaw. And when I have a light that works fine. The electrical works fine. It's just the mount.

Without knowing exactly what part is broken, and if you are not overly fussy about appearances, I find that plumbers metal strapping is super useful for all sorts of improvised repair parts.

It's easily cut with tin snips or hacksaw, has a lot of ready-made holes for screws or bolts, and can be shaped with pliers. Get the thicker type for less vibration. It's usually galvanized mild steel, but you can get it in copper.

The last time I used it was to hang up some outdoor lighting strings around my deck.

I had the same frustration so I got rid of the wire bracket and replaced it. First I was going to use a GoPro tripod mount but quickly found that the light mount was not compatible. I was going to cut the middle section with a coping saw to make it fit. But lucky for me I did not have to do that because I came across a "U" bracket that fits perfectly.
Literally is LITERALLY the most annoying word of the decade.

I have a 18 and 23 Radcity step thru with no front basket.  Always disliked how the standard light would always fall forward or back with almost every ride.  I added a handlebar extender for both ebikes for an AUX light with separate battery:

Amazon, $16: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CH78SKS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

I added Niterider Pro 1800 with a 4 cell battery (battery attached with Velcro straps on step thru downtube).  I went with the Niterider brand because we like to hike, easy to X-fer to another bike, bike helmet attachment, and head strap attachment for camping.  Used a few times when we had power outages around the house.
