Radrover 6 Plus Controller Failure

Hello all. I'm new to the group.

I just had to replace the controller on my Radrover 6 plus which only has 400 miles. I live in a very hilly mountain town.

I would like to reach out to others who have had controller failures with the question: What sort of riding do you do? I am now suspicious of my Rad for having failed and wonder if maybe it is underpowered for lots of hill climbing. The 3rd party controllers I read about sound like rockets by comparison. What are your thoughts?

I had a Rover 5 and day one I knew it had more power in there.  Within a few months I upgraded my controller.
It was a world of difference in the 2.

I highly recommend it.

I recently sold my Rover.  It had over 6000 miles on it.  It served me well.

I replaced with an even stronger bike by a different manufacturer.  Once I got hooked on the RAD upgrades I wanted more.  So I switched.

I'm on my 3rd controller for the wife's 2023 Radcity step thru with under 300 miles. We live +5000 feet in the southwest; but, ride on level ground at around 14-18 mph max speed.  Long time Rad owner with two 2016 Radrover and replaced the controllers 4 times in first 2 years of owning the ebikes.  Zero issues with both Radrover controllers after 2018 (+4000 miles on each Radrovers).

This does not give warm and fuzzies.
Literally is LITERALLY the most annoying word of the decade.

No it doesn't...

Rad sent me a different controller that mounts on the outside of seat post down tube instead of internally in the space in-between the pedals.  Just haven't been motivated enough yet to start the repair. The wife still has her old 1st gen 2018 Radcity step thru to ride. The 2023 Radcity step thru was her new and improved upgraded model and we were going to sell the older Radcity.  I'm thinking I made the right choice going for a Himiway Cobra Pro instead replacing my 2016 Radrover with the latest Rover model.

Thanks for the feedback but so far I don't see a smoking gun here. It sounds more like the luck of the draw. I was getting ready to order the upgrade from Area13 but they are currently out of stock so I got a factory replacement from Rad.
I'd like to add that we live at 6200 feet in Colorado, literally on the side of a mountain. I was reluctant for years to get an ebike but it has been a joy to not have to fight the hills.
