About insurance for stolen bike

Hello, I had my bike stolen and I had insurance for it and I would like to know if anyone here has insured their bike and had it stolen and got paid by the insurance? I would like to know the time and procedures to get the money. Have you been denied insurance after the bike was stolen? Thanks.

No experience however am interested in the cost of insuring the bikes.

When I asked my insurer (in the USA) about my MiniST 2, he said it would already be covered by my homeowner policy for miscellaneous goods, so no additional cost or paperwork, so you might want to check on that.  I have lots of photos and complete records of all serial numbers to support a claim, but so far unneeded in my quiet rural town.
