Who knows the metric size of nuts welded to the rear rack of the
RR 6 plus?????

Radding Along

Pretty sure they are M5. .8 mm pitch. Length is whatever needed to install accessory. By the way. .8 pitch is standard, so any hardware store would have it.  To be safe, pick up M6 bolts 1 mm pitch as well, just in case I am wrong. Those are the only two sizes it would be.

Would that also be the correct size bolt for the brake calipers?

The Rover 6 brake calipers made by Nutt has a bolt size:

M6,1mm thread pitch, 18mm length

It doesn't really matter, but the bolt uses a 5mm Allen wrench to remove it, if you really want to match it up with what came stock. That bolt is available at any hardware store.

Forgive my ignorance but is M6 always 1 mm pitch?

The answer to that is yes and no. If you go to most hardware stores and want to buy an M6 bolt, it would more than likely be 1mm pitch (thread pattern). That's kind of the standard size.

But there are other pitches available. For example, McMaster-Carr offers M6 in .75 and 1mm. And I believe there is another pitch as well, but I can't remember the application it is used for.

I always like to include pitch when suggesting a nut or bolt, just in case the person running to the hardware store doesn't grab the wrong  pitch if that store offers multiple pitch sizes.

Pitch is more critical when buying American sized bolts. I'm sure everyone is familiar with the term fine thread and course thread bolts. It's just another name for different pitches.
