The eternal seat question.

Looking for seat recommendations for the RadRover 6 Plus.

I really thought I'd be fine with the stock seat, but after my first 20+ mile mostly road ride that did also include some off road jumps, my old man ass was sore, as were my inner tights (tmi?? Lol).

I've got a fairly flat ass, so not much natural cushion there despite hovering around 195 pounds.

Whatcha got, and why?

Morning Tree,
I have a cloud 9 large gel saddle with real springs (not elastomer spring,)  Just recently put a Bikeroo gel cover on it and we will see how that goes since I have not went for a long ride yet, I'm a big guy too, And these items are helping the butt and chafing issues, By the way, My opinion is picking out a saddle is like buying shoes, Need to see what fits for you, I have 4 saddles in my quest to find a more comfortable ride, I have the Radrover 5

I have a cloud 9 which is ok. But the best you can do is get Suntour suspension seat post.
It's a game changer. Best upgrade I've done.

I have both the Cloud 9 and the Suntour suspension post. Seems like an improvement.

I have another pair coming for the newly ordered RadCity I just ordered for the wife.

What about the Thudbuster Suspension Seat post? Anyone have had the experience of using one?

I installed my SR Suntour NCX Suspension post today and love it.  Easy to install.  Big difference even with the stock seat.

Which Cloud-9 seat model is the group referencing...there are multiple choices.  Also, for the suspension post, I wanted to confirm it's 27.2 which is the same as the stock post on my RR6+.  Thanks!

Radiculous

Padded shorts worked fairly well with the stock seat while riding amongst the cagers. Off road,  it was quite the hindrance.

I swapped out the stock with my 30yr old
mtn bike seat. I'm 5'11" 140lbs without ass. I have to wear suspenders to keep my pants from sliding off...tmi.
Anyway, I'm sitting solely on my butt bones which is way comfortable for me and it's easier to move around without getting jammed up off road

It looked silly at first being so small and all,  but now when I look at old pics with the stock seat,  goofy.

Finding the right seat is like finding the right shoes; you'll just have to try one or two or ten and maybe you'll get lucky right away.  I went through five seats, including two different Cloud-9 models, and settled on this one, but I can almost guarantee a different seat will fit you differently and make you happier:  https://amzn.to/3tby5Bj

The nose on this design is too long during dismount, and I can find no design advantage to that, but I got used to it and otherwise it's the best I've tried so far.  Give them a bit of time before deciding to try a different one; your butt needs to "break in".  Fortunately, Amazon is really good about returns, although I passed off the other C-9 to my sister as a gift rather than returning it.
Shucks Ma'am, I'm no "Hero Member", I just like to wear this cape.

i ended up with one of the Bikearoo seats, but the biggest difference maker has been a good pair of padded mountain bike shorts.

No discomfort without them, at all. Yesterday I went on a short 10 mile ride without the padded shorts for the first time since I started wearing them a couple months ago, and almost immediately felt the difference.

I'm not likely to bike without the padded shorts again.

I've tried 6 different mountain bike/slimmer seats with Suntour post (which agreed is awesome!). This recommendation will make some chuckle at first glance butt really works well for me.

Schwinn Comfort Bike Seat https://amzn.to/3zUx5Fv

Wife had similar seat that came stock on Schwinn beach cruiser, had me put it on her Suntour seat post for a Runner.  Finally broke down and tried-loved it. Was hard to get over looking at this seat on such a badass looking fat tire bike but after couple weeks I've convinced myself it actually looks good and 45 mile rides are total different experience.
