I see the two listed by Ryan on his equipment list but wanted to get others opinions. Riding on roads I'm looking for what will give me the best field of view on cars coming up on me.

Ryan

I have only tried the Mirrycle mirrors for our ebike but I do like that they are mounted on the bar ends. Some of the others will just further clutter the cockpit area. Not sure how visibility compares but I imagine your options for field of view are slightly better with the bar end mounted style. My wife and I share our bike and it's also easy for us to adjust. Maybe someone with the Hafny mirrors can chime in.

My first mirror was a Hafny end bar, but when my Runner got tired and rapidly laid down on that side the mirror broke, it also limited my clearance between trees. I bought the Hafny handle bar, https://amzn.to/3h40HVI
And really like it. Good view, no shake, better clearance.

That's a great point. If your mirror is likely to get snagged on anything you're probably better off with the Hafny. Perhaps that's what I'll buy for my next ebike so I can compare the two.

Hi Bob Mc - my Hafny Handle end bars for my Runner just arrived over the weekend.

Not sure if i'm putting them on the right place on the handle bars - either that or i'm too wide that i'm blocking my own view.

Do you mind if i ask where you mounted them on your handle bars?

Cheers

Howdy, I mounted it on the left side, right next to the controller. it sticks out far enough to see ok. i'll try to load a picture.

Thanks for the info. That's what I was thinking about. I think the end mirrors give you a better view and cause more issues I think than benefits. I think the reduced width clearance,  the chance for breakage, and also the hassle when putting multiple bikes on a carrier make me think the bar mirror would be a better fit.

I was just looking that the bar-mounted one like you got and read a great tip to buy the right side one and mount it upside down on the left side to get your body out of the way.

I am going to try that out.

Thanks Bob Mc!

Cheers 1Eye - i might give that a go!

With all of this talk about mirrors for ebikes I decided to reach out to Hafny and they are sending me a few different varieties to dig into. I'll post a link to the video here once it's live - just waiting a few weeks until I have all of the options to share in one video.

I founds that the Hefny mirrors kept falling down when riding them (not when it's clamped to the handlebar, but the joint hinge).

Possibly because i was riding it on cobbled streets in london, and the RadRunner doesn't have suspension...?

I ordered the Hafny 2019 New Handlebar Bike Mirror, HD,Blast-Resistant, Glass Lens, HF-MR088LS (Anti-Glare Blue Left) last night so I guess we'll see when it gets her how it works.

Without spending significantly more, it is hard to beat the Mirrycle of Hafny mirrors.
