anybody found a solution to this that did not include mounting it on the handlebars?

Dan

MRI-Denver has a front bottle holder bracket that mounts to the front stem, under the handlebars, using existing threaded holes on the bike, even with a front rack attached.  You can mount right- and left-opening bottle cages to the bracket.  I had to tweak mine a tad to get the holes on the bracket  to line up exactly with the threaded holes on the bike, but it works great.

bought the MRI for both mine and the wife's bike.  Took the bottle cages off of out old Treks.  love them.

I got the adjustable one from Gzila. It's bit pricey at $55 but I like it.

I used the following for my water bottle setup and am happy with it:

I really like that that bottle holder since it's far cheaper than others listed. I still think it's kind of ridiculous that these custom parts cost so much.

Someone more talented than me should be able to 3D print one cheaper I would think.

I wonder if ABS plastic would work well for a bottle holder and 3D printing. If I remember correctly some of the plastic on my dirt bike had ABS plastic.

this is a great, inexpensive ($6.96), nearly indestructible, water bottle cage.

i have installed several on multiple bikes with no issues.

the cage has numerous mounting options using the included velcro strap or the bike's hardpoints.

expandable - i've used up to a 32 oz. iron flask bottle in this bottle cage.

thank you alll very much.

Maybe this isn't true for all Rad bikes, but both my RadRunner and RadRover had mounting holes that fit water bottles you buy for $7 at Walmart.

The location on the Rover is terrible in my opinion.

Has anyone mounted a water bottle cage on their 6+ with a front basket?
