how do you lock up your RR6+ step thru?

Hi all, total e-bike noob here. RR6+ ST arrives tomorrow.

Can you please post pics of your lockup method? I'm not sure what lock combinations will work with the ST. I've watched many YouTube vids so I'm clear on the concept of locking up but not out which locks will work. I live in a small metro town in So. Oregon (Rogue
River) and will need to lockup for short stops to the grocery, take out, haircuts, etc. Will not need to long term lockup.

I use a Kryptonite Kryptolock U-Lock and KryptoFlex cable. I use the u-lock just like a heavy duty padlock with the cable. I have the 7 foot cable when I have just my bike and I have the 30 foot cable for when I have both my bike and my wife's. The 30 foot is really long. Wish there was something between the 7 foot and 30 foot. I just make sure the cable goes through the frame, the rear wheel, and the front wheel and also around a bike rack or light/telephone pole. I also take the battery off and carry it inside with me. I also have a motion sensing alarm on both bikes. Here's the links to all this stuff.

Is bike theft a big problem in your town? If so, I would absolutely avoid relying on a cable in any capacity. I live in Metro Vancouver (BC), and bike components secured via cable will disappear in a heartbeat. If you're in a similar situation, I would suggest at the very least carrying a Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit U-lock, a Kryptonite Evolution chain with either integrated lock or with an included disc lock, and a good disc lock. The U-lock goes through frame, rear wheel if possible, and a secure rack/etc.; the chain goes through frame, front wheel, and rack/etc.; and the disc lock goes through rear brake rotor. You'd also want to consider options for deterring component theft, such as installing a security skewer for the front wheel, replacing the quick-release for your seatpost with a clamp using a bolt, and using Hexlox magnets on bolts securing important bits (e.g. seatpost clamp, headtube).

To be clear, none of these measures will stop a determined thief. But if that thief sees my secured bike parked near a less-secured bike, they'll steal the one that's easier to free up. It's like that old saying--when running from a bear, you don't have to be faster than the bear, you just have to be faster than anyone else that's running away.

You might be able to get away with a less onerous security option if bike theft rates aren't high in your city. But hey, this isn't a cheap bike. It might be worth it to splurge on security options.

Lock Picking Lawyer Approved. Got a couple short versions (5-6 lbs each) to lock the wheels to the frame & a couple long versions (10 Lbs+)  to attach the frame to suitable objects. It would take a cut off wheel(s) to break it.

That and electronic motion alarm modules. Dam are they loud. Chirp, chirp.

I was interested in this answer as I am also a noob ;-) (awaiting delivery on my RR6+ ST in fact).  With the step-thru, where does one put whatever brand locking device?  Kryptonite pic on Amazon shows "step over" bike with cross bar placing the lock around rear tire and frame above pedals, but is that effective with step-thru?  Cheers.

I have the Kryptonite thats mentioned here,  the 90cm one, anything shorter you'll struggle to get it around the frame and a post or whatever. It's very heavy tho and can be a bit fiddly to secure around things, but as others have said it's an expensive bike so well worth it to secure it.
