Rad rover 6 plus no throttle or PAS

I own a rad rover 6 plus and the throttle and PAS stopped working. The bike has full power, headlight, tail light, and brake light all work properly. It has not shown any type of error code. I have disconnected every wire and reconnected with zero change. The brake pads could use replacing but still work properly, including the brake light when squeezing either brake lever.

There is a little red light near the pedals that flashes when the pedal is moving forward. When pedaling, the watts will show up to 003 watts but again no assist or throttle.

This has happened once before a few months ago. I powered the bike up and got no throttle or PAS. Began my ride home and about 5 minutes in, the throttle and pas kicked in and haven't had an issue since.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Pedaling a 70lb+ bike without assist isn't too fun.

Sounds like what I just went through. Motor just quit responding with no error codes. After many go rounds with Rad I ended up getting a new controller. Just installed it and the bike is it's old self again.

3 Watts isn't very much. Even Walk Mode should burn up something on the order of 30 watts.

That red light is odd. It makes no mention of it at all in the Owner's Manual.
The fact that it flashes when the pedals turn sounds like it has to do with the cadence sensor. Is it something like 12 or so flashes per revolution?

Wait, did you actually mean "haven't had an issue until now", or does it still work since that first time a few months ago?

How about Walk Mode? (Press and hold the Down arrow on the remote.) Does that work? I'm guessing that does not depend on anything related to the cadence sensor or twisting the throttle.
The brake handle cut-out switches would probably work the same as usual.

Somebody on https://forums.electricbikereview.com/threads/red-light-by-bottom-bracket-on-a-2018-rad-power-city-st-no-power.35362/ has this theory:
"It indicates the bike has power. I think it's intended to warn someone doing maintenance work that they forgot to remove the battery."

I had the exact same issue with the symptoms you described on a 2023 Radcity Step thru.  This issue happened a few weeks after purchase with under 20 miles on the ebike.  A new controller got the Radcity back to normal.  Fast forward to Aug 2024; I have an error 21 on the LCD and all the same symptoms as before.  Rad sent me an seat post mounted external controller to replace the internal controller located in between the pedals.

Yes I have rad rover 6+ with 250 miles on it, had same issue, I installed new wiring harness, which did not solve, now I am waiting on a new controller and hoping that will solve the issue.

I had the same issue and I ordered a new controller and installed it, now everything is working fine.  Good luck!

I got my RadPower 6 about 6 weeks ago, assembled it and it worked like a charm. Now, I have the same problem. The hub motor is not coming on, but the two displays work fine. No PA and no throttle. Ran through all the checks and I'm about to request an RMA for a faulty bike. It's not a good look for your first Rad to be dead in the water. Especially when there are so many other posts saying the same thing.

I could get better performance from a cheap Chinese bike at this point. Really disappointed.

Has anyone found a solution for this? I'm hesitant to buy a new 3rd party controller and may just go Class III instead.
